Swim Meet 101
BEFORE THE MEET:
- Swimmers may enter a maximum of three (3) individual events and a maximum of two (2) relay events (one age-restricted and one open).
- Relays are created by the swim coaches.
- Swimmers MUST check in with a Senior Kraken at all Meets.
- Check-in time is always 1 hour before the Meet begins. That means 7 am for Saturday Meets and 5 pm for Wednesday Meets.
- Swimmers MUST participate in team warm-ups in order to swim in the meet.
DURING THE MEET:
- Swimmers should remain in the team area. There will be parent volunteers lining swimmers up for races and this is where they will look for them. If your swimmer is not in the team area they may miss their race.
- Many swimmers bring chairs or towels to sit on in the team area when they are not swimming.
- Swimmers are encouraged to bring water to hydrate and a healthy snack for during the meet.
- Please encourage your swimmer to clean up the team area after the meet is complete
AFTER THE MEET:
- DO NOT leave the meet early, unless you have let the coaches know in advance that you are leaving. Your swimmer may be entered in a relay and if your swimmer is not there, the whole relay team will be scratched from the meet.
- Meet results will be posted as soon as they are available after the meet is finalized.
- If your swimmer got a DQ, please have them ask the coach what they did incorrectly so they can work on stroke improvement.

Parent Information
VOLUNTEERS:
- Please check in with the team Vice President, Taylor Jenkins, or her designee when you arrive at the pool deck.
- Please note on your volunteer assignment your check-in time. Some positions require you to be present before the meet begins.
SPECTATORS:
- Spectators are welcome to bring chairs to watch the meet.
- Please cheer for all the swimmers.
- Your swimmers are welcome to visit you as you are watching the meet, but please bring them back to the team area after they touch base with you.
- The meet should be emailed out to the team before the meet. This will tell you which events your swimmer is in.
- Do not leave the meet early without double-checking that your swimmer is not in a relay event. If you leave without telling a Coach or Senior Kraken, and your swimmer is in a relay, that entire relay team will not be able to swim.
